Perch like ponds that are deep and dark. We suggest a depth of at least 10'-12'. Perch primarily eat minnows. The growth rate for perch is similar to that of bass. Under proper conditions, a 3''-4'' perch in the spring, could grow to be about 7'' by fall. Perch need weeds or something else to string their eggs on. In some ponds, perch will reproduce well; in other ponds, with seemingly the same conditions, they may not. We suggest trying them in your pond to see how they do.
